Precious oil for your precious baby! It takes milk of 20 fresh coconuts to extract just 100 ml of virgin coconut oil. This form of wet extracted virgin coconut oil, extracted from green coconut (vs dried copra) retains maximum anti-oxidants, moisture and anti-bacterial properties because of a unique component in it called lauric acid and capric acid. This form of extraction yields very little oil and it is the true virgin coconut oil. A great way to recognise a good quality virgin coconut oil is that it has a fresh mild coconut smell and not a strong nutty roasted smell. (the roasted / strong nutty smell is usually from dried copra…) This form of oil has been used in Ayurveda for centuries for it’s therapeutic properties, and it makes it an ideal choice for your baby’s sensitive skin or even mom’s sensitive skin…

Virgin coconut oil is one of nature’s best creation. It is not only a perfect moisturiser, but also a mild sunscreen, a natural anti-bacterial anti-fungal. The unique fatty acids (Caprylic and Lauric) in coconut oil reduce inflammation internally and externally and moisturize making them a great solution for all types of skin conditions like scars, eczema, stretch marks, rashes, minor insect bites etc. (Interestingly…lauric acid is only found naturally in mother’s milk and virgin coconut oil!)
Natural vitamin E oil, a potent anti-oxidant…
Our quality of ingredients makes our oil so effective. Nature identical vitamin E in the form of mixed tocopherols is what we use in our products. It is the best vitamin E because it is metabolised by our skin, and the skin therefore get’s the benefit. Any other form of Vitamin E which is commonly used in commercial products tocopheryl acetate also sold in the form of vitamin E capsule supplement is not the the most useful form
Nourishing, cold pressed avocado oil…
Avocado oil is hugely nourishing oil, rich in vitamins like Vitamin A, B, D and E and phytosterols, this oil is extracted from the pulp of avocado and not the seed of the avocado. It makes it a safer choice for new born babies as seed oils like almond, peanut, mustard may cause allergies or rashes in newly born babies

Well…consider this! Your Baby’s skin is 5 times thinner than yours and may absorb upto 60% of what is put on it!
At Prakrta we do not believe in selling lotions or creams because that is a creation of man not nature ! to combine water and oil and make it into a creme/lotion you need many stabilisers, de-odorizers, chemicals, preservatives. So you can buy the most expensive lotions and creams but that is not the nature’s way and you may still be exposing your child to chemicals
This is why we promote only nature made, cold pressed oils (minus any added fragrance) for your little one’s skin or even your own 🙂
Use this oil as a pre bath massage oil or to moisturize baby’s skin after bath. Always apply on a slightly damp skin. This oil has a purity of an edible grade product and you can safely apply it on baby’s head, face and body or even chapped lips. Avoid applying on the baby’s head in peak winter season as coconut oil has a cooling effect
If you are using it for yourself then, apply on slightly damp skin for your face, hair or body. It can even help scars and stretch marks as coconut oil promotes natural collagen production and has tremendous anti-ageing properties!

100% Natural Skin Nutrition
How did you come up with the idea for this product?
The beginnings of Prakrta was from home. Like many young mothers, Rupam (Prakrta Co founder) was a harried mother because her 6 month old daughter was diagnosed with eczema (atopic dermatitis). Many months and many trips to doctors and pharmacies took it’s toll, till one fine dermatologist suggested her to use ancient time-tested “grandma’s recipes” and only natural products on the baby. …extra virgin coconut oil for massage, pure neem leaf bath for the baby etc. Commercial soaps and lotions or mineral oil was a strict no. That started months of research and many more months and now years of product development and trials. Reverting to 100% natural products for the child not only alleviated her condition, it became the way of life for the entire family
We are two sisters Rupam Singh and Anupam Singh who practice the 100% natural way. We conceptualized and finally started the ‘Prakrta’ brand in 2014
What makes your product special?
We keep it simple. Our products have to conform to certain goodness parameters (as we call them!)

2. All ingredients must have skin nutritional benefits
3. Packaging has to be as environmentally conscious as possible (glass vs plastic, recycled paper wherever possible)
4. Our products are not tested on animal but ourselves, our children our friends and family before they are put on shelf
5. Safety, and skin friendly is an important aspect of our product formulation
( It would be easy for us to add a lot of fragrance or even essential oils in our products, and believe us we will sell a lot more ….but our research shows that most essential oils should be avoided especially for baby products or face care products. We make sure we use only the most benign and safe essential oils and ingredients. In fact a lot of our products are with no added fragrance. )
What has been the best part of your experience?
Overwhelming customer response! Many of our products are unconventional and have no added fragrance, just the pure and natural smell of the herbs or oils in it. So we were apprehensive that the acceptability may be low. We are delighted to see that customers have not just accepted it but have given us great reviews. Customers seeking genuine products see the honesty and purity of our product and have responded to that.
